Look, Alan Cumming, I love you, but NO. Female genital mutilation and male circumcision are NOT equivalent. FGM would be more like having the entire head of your penis cut off. A better metaphor would that male circumcision is a woman getting her labia minora removed (which I know doesn’t happen, but bear with me) - it’s sexually sensitive tissue that she would not longer have, yes, but she’s not lost anything completely vital to her functioning or pleasure.
I just…I don’t see the tragedy about foreskins.
